World Vision is a Christian relief, development and advocacy organisation dedicated to working with children, families and their communities worldwide. They provide emergency assistance to children and their families affected by natural disasters and civil conflicts. They work with communities to develop long term solutions to alleviate poverty and advocate justice.
With its offices around the globe, World Vision Philippines needed to communicate to their offices in Central Africa and South east Asia. DDI rates in the Philippines are costly especially if calls are made in African countries. They decided to switch from their legacy PABX to VoIP to open source Asterisk to call out and receive calls. They also needed a virtual receptionist and an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) to manage their calls and call auditing.
Elisha Telecom installed and configured the server hardware and IP phones provided by World Vision. International and local dial routes were placed along with the telephony interface card for PSTN calls. The IVR was customised with World Vision’s own recording and PIN codes were added for security in making international calls.
