Bridging the gap between offices with VoIP
With its headquarters in Australia, NRG Global Solutions is an innovative BPO company that provides integrated Customer Lifecycle Management services to businesses in banking & financial services, telecommunications, insurance, technology, retail, travel and leisure and services industries.
With clients in Australia and New Zealand, they utilise delivery centres in Australia and Asia equipped with state of the art contact databases, telephony dialler technology and facilities to accommodate 400 plus seats.
A dedicated phone system is needed for their offshore office in the Philippines to let them communicate with their headquarters in Australia. They need to utilise the office’s PSTN lines to receive and make calls by using a phone system. SIP termination will be given by their Australian VoIP provider.
They needed a phone system that has all the standard features of a proprietary PABX such as voicemail, conferencing, call reporting, IVR, call transfer and call queues. They also need a system that manages the system easily without requiring licenses for extensions.
The company needed a flexible and easy to manage phone system so they installed an Asterisk based Linux distribution. A Digium telephony interface card was utilised for the offshore office in Manila to utilise their PSTN lines for local calls.
Trixbox CE was selected by the company as their Asterisk based Linux distribution, together with the Digium telephony interface card so users can make international calls via VoIP and receive incoming calls from Manila.
PIN codes were placed on the system so that authorised personnel can make international calls to their headquarters in Australia. Conferencing, call queuing, IVR and voicemail were set up to boost productivity for their Manila office.
