VoIP Implementation for a start-up BPO company
Legal Process Outsourcing (LPO) is one of the fastest growing sectors in the Philippine BPO industry. This is mainly due to the financial difficulties experienced by many American, Australian, Canadian and British law firms as a consequence of shrinking legal budgets. The biggest advantage of legal process outsourcing is that it is cost effective and extremely efficient. Typically, a U.S. attorney typically charges anywhere from USD $150-600/hour for legal services and a good part of the work can be outsourced to legal process outsourcing firms for a fraction of the cost.
LegisPro Corporation, with its growth in the outsourcing industry, needed an alternative means to communicate to their clients and colleagues in the United States which does not require them to spend a fortune through calls considering that international calls from the Philippines are very expensive.
They pushed to implement Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) in their offices and needed an IP PBX system that contains all the standard features of a proprietary phone system but costs less. They also needed VoIP phones to support Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology.
With the hardware server provided by LegisPro, Elisha Telecom installed an Asterisk based Linux distribution and configured the Digium analog telephony card. Standard PBX features were likewise installed and configured such as SIP extensions, dial plan call routing, Interactive Voice Response and Call Reporting.
