If you check online, IP Phones are much more expensive to purchase. However, you must consider that Analog Phones Hardware support, configuration, and upgrades can also be very expensive. Also remember that in select cases, Analog Phones still work even when there is a power outage.
IP Phones behave in almost the same way as computers. They can be integrated into your network where your internet or data comes in. This means that you now have the option to lose unnecessary telephone cables. Unlike Analog Phones, IP Phones can also be installed in your computers or mobile devices. The softphone can still carry the extension that you have assigned to it wherever you go. You can even have multiple extensions on one IP Phone.
On top of integrating IP Phones into mobile devices, desktops and laptops, you can also include your CRM in this complex network. Some even utilize the technology and use the same network for video calling. With unlimited data supplied by your provider, you can also make long distance calls without additional charges.
IP Phones, unlike Analog Phones, rely on electricity to work. Select devices sometimes require power over internet injectors. During power outages, you may have to temporarily rely on the Analog Phones. Also, with the internet being used primarily by IP Phones, it can also affect your internet speed at work. If you do not have a secure firewall, your entire system will be vulnerable to network attacks.
It is true that IP Phones may be expensive. However, most companies choose the IP Solutions because they are highly customizable. On top of that, you save time waiting for a technical support representative to personally check your hardware as IP Phones can be configured and maintained remotely.
